Description
The Umbra is a floor standing mirror with a subtly tilted arched design, and a base that replicates the shadow it would cast on the floor.
Depending on the viewer’s position the asymmetric base is either invisible or revealing the mirror’s shadow. The black finish of the base emphasises the impact of the shadow effect.
UMBRA is a collaboration between Manuel Canestrini @manuel.canestrini.creative from Formacy, and Colin Whitehead @specialthingsfurniture from Special Things Furniture.
The Umbra mirror is constructed using a silver mirror onto MDF backing and base. To achieve a crystal clear mirror image we use high-quality 6mm glass, with a thin layer of silver applied using electrolysis.
The Umbra mirror is not only useful, it’s a beautiful design statement too. Perfect for a dressing room or bedroom.
