MADE FOR THIS SPACE.From workshop to home.At 3600 × 1300 mm, this dining table was always going to have presence. But designing at this scale isn’t simply about making something bigger — it’s about finding balance.The warmth and movement of the tri-directional oak veneer, the softened half-bullnose edge and the sculptural curved bases were all considered as parts of one form.There’s a lot of thinking behind a piece like this — proportion, material, grain direction, shape and scale. Decisions made in the workshop without ever losing sight of where the finished piece will eventually live.And now it’s here.The warmth of the oak sits beautifully against the quieter palette of the room, while the curves of the base find a natural relationship with the chairs and the sculptural lighting above.For a table of this size, it doesn’t need to dominate the room. It has presence, but it also feels completely at home in it.This is what happens when all that thinking meets the space it was designed for.Calm. Resolved. Some tables are made to fill a space. This one was made to define it. This week, a 3.6 metre dining table leaves our workshop for its new home. Crafted in oak with a soft walnut finish. The 38 mil tri-directional top plays with perspective, the grain drawing you in, shifting as you move around it. A soft half bullnose edge lightens the scale and flows into the sculptural base beneath. This design was also developed for the Horseshoe House featured on Grand Designs Australia.It’s always rewarding to see the language evolve for another story. Today, the craftsmanship of the top.
