Reflection, rhythm and repetition.

Three Cloud Mirrors by Special Things Furniture take centre stage in this beautiful Rose Bay penthouse in Sydney.

Their sculptural detailing creates a striking visual rhythm, bringing texture, light and movement to the contemporary dining space.

Against the dark cabinetry, warm timber flooring and soft tan upholstery, the mirrors become more than reflections — they become an architectural feature.

From the workshop to the wall.

Three Cloud mirrors, finished and ready to leave our Melbourne workshop.

There’s something rather satisfying about seeing a design come together, particularly when three individual mirrors are intended to work as one composition.

Each mirror has its own character, with the softly rounded form and textured detailing creating something a little different from a conventional mirror.

These three are heading to a penthouse apartment in Rose Bay, Sydney.

We’ll show you how they look installed later this week.

Retro Mirror | Eight Ways to See It

One mirror. Eight different orientations.

Part of our Retro mirror range, this design explores the relationship between shape, colour, geometry and reflection.

With eight different hanging positions, the composition changes depending on how you choose to display it. Each orientation creates a different visual balance and character.

A mirror that goes beyond reflection to become a sculptural piece in its own right.

A little behind-the-scenes look at the making of our Retro mirror.

DOCK | Formacy Design Bureau

Furniture doesn’t always need to follow convention.

Dock explores the relationship between form, function and proportion, bringing together strong geometric shapes with the softness of upholstery.

The sculptural bases create a sense of rhythm, while the contrasting materials give each element its own identity.

Designed to work together, the upholstered bench and low table create a composition that’s as much about the space around them as the furniture itself.

Designed by Formacy Design Bureau.

Architecture, proportion and a little drama.

A dining table should do more than simply fill a space. It should bring people together while feeling completely at home in its surroundings.

Our architectural dining table is crafted from solid oak with a rich ebony finish. Its sculptural bases, softened curves and expansive proportions create a strong presence without overwhelming the room.

Designed to comfortably accommodate 10–12 people, it’s a piece where form, function and craftsmanship come together.

And above the table? A little glimpse of something new we’re developing at Special Things. An architectural timber pendant light that brings its own character to the space. More on that soon.

Custom dining tables, designed and made in Melbourne.

We’d love to hear from you at Special Things.
